DG Camp.
Every July in the beautiful surroundings of Glenstal Abbey, we hold a residential tennis camp for boys aged 9-15. This year our camp runs from July 1st - 6th and bookings are now open. Our camp is different for a few reasons. Firstly and most importantly, we only accept a small number of applicants. In each year of our camp (2009, 2010 and 2011) we have limited the number of players to 32. This makes it much more likely that both the tennis and social elements of the camp run smoothly and means we tend to avoid many of the problems associated with some of the bigger and more profit-oriented camps. We are far more interested in building a relationship over time and are very proud of the fact that our pupils not only come back to our camp year-in year-out, but also join us in loads of our other events and activities during the year (and some of our original pupils have now even started working for us!).
Our camp is primarily a week of tennis coaching and competition, mixed with plenty of multi-sport games and some fun activities in the evenings. Our players are accommodated in comfortable dorms (they can share with any friends they want) and meals are provided in the excellent college canteen. Our staff ratio is as good as you will find anywhere (at least 1 staff member for every 8 players) and both staff and players are all resident at the college for the duration of the week.
David and Gary head-up the tennis instruction programme, both of whom have huge coaching experience and qualifications. In the last few years we have had everything from complete beginners to nationally ranked players attending the camp. The cost of attending the camp is an ‘all-in’ price of €399. This covers all coaching, meals, accommodation, activities, and supervision.
Booking.
With a very limited number of places available, early booking is essential. To hold a place simply click HERE, complete the form and return it with a deposit of €100 (payable to ‘DG Tennis’).
